Humanitarian Aid from Churches

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40

In light of the recent hurricanes, it's interesting to know that churches are frequently on the front lines of relief efforts.

The Catholic Church, billions of members strong has many streams of income and throughout it's vast worldwide network, they provide relief of all kinds.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints gave $1.7 billion to humanitarian aid in 2023. This help doesn't go to just church members. This is a world wide effort for members and nonmembers alike.

Islamic relief is a worldwide organization that consists of 15 organizatons that work together to relieve in disaster situations.

Samaritans Purse is a worldwide organization. Its mission is inspired by "go and do thou likewise", Christ's adminition at he end of the Good Samaritan parable.

In your local community, there may be churches that are looking for good causes to support. Churches can be a good place to find engaged board members, people who understand the needs of the community and want to help. Picking up the phone and meeting with a Pastor, Priest or other leader of the church to tell them about your organization is a great place to start to get the community support you need.
