"You must do the things you think you cannot do". Eleanor Roosevelt
As 2024 comes to a close, we all tend to reflect on the year. Resolutions generally don't work out. But goal setting is different. Goal getting has substance. Weight. And a plan.
The plan does not need to be elaborate. It can be simple but the key is to have a task list designed to take small steps every day toward the goal. Stephen Covey called it Start With the End in Mind. Jot down the result you want. Then list the things that you have to do to achieve the end result you want.
Another tip is to set no more than three goals at a time. In fact, two goals are the most manageable. These tips apply to both personal goals and goals for your organization.
Rest assured that we will be using this method. It's a process we've already begun for ourselves as individuals and for our organization. 2025 looks to be a very exciting time for us and there is work to be done, work we have already begun to do. But it's not overwhelming. It's small steps every day.
